Compare electric scooters and gear sold in Canada. Rules are provincial and often municipal, so check where you live.
Check the law before you buy. E-scooter rules are provincial and often municipal. Example: Ontario's e-scooter pilot (1 January 2020 to 27 November 2029) only applies where a municipality has passed a bylaw to allow e-scooters. Pilot e-scooters must have a maximum speed of 24 km/h, maximum weight of 45 kg, maximum power of 500 W, two wheels and brakes, a horn or bell, lights and side reflective material, and no pedals, seat or basket. Riders must be at least 16, stand while riding, and wear a bicycle helmet if under 18. Municipalities decide whether insurance is required. Fines of $250 to $2,500 apply. Many scooters sold in Canada (for example Apollo models quoted at 45 to 70 km/h) exceed pilot limits, so product pages must tell buyers to check provincial and municipal rules.
Scooters and gear to compare
We list models whose specifications we have checked on the maker’s own website for this region. We don’t show prices because they change daily: use the buttons to see current specs and prices. Always check the scooter meets the rules where you will ride it.
